Snacks and Field Trips

Hope everyone had a fabulous spring break! I have not sent out an April snack calendar because we have lots of odds and ends that we need to finish up... I'll send a calendar out when we start getting low :)

Remember, if you are even slightly interested in going on the field trip with us on the 22 of May you must turn in your Chaperone form no later than This Friday.... Visit volunteer.ocps.net complete the chaperone application, print it and send it in with your child. We would love to have you!!

Can you believe that this is the last 9 weeks of kindergarten? They are almost 1st graders..... How time flies...

How to Teach Children to Be Responsible

I had a chat with the kids today about transitioning out of using shared table materials and moving towards being responsible for their own personal materials... Please send in a pencil pouch or small pencil box that is able to hold 2 pencils, one box of 24 crayons, an eraser, 1 glue stick and a pair of scissors. No "extra" stuff can be kept in there. The box/pouch will stay at school and will not go home until the end of the school year. If we want them to become responsible young children, then we need to give them many opportunities to practice being responsible for something. They are extremely excited about this! :)

A Special Day for my Funny Little Valentines :)

We will be exchanging cards for Valentine's Day! If you plan on sending in cards to exchange please have your child do the cards :) they need to write the names of their classmates on the envelope/card and sign it from them... This can be very time consuming, I know, but if you do a few each night it won't be so overwhelming for your child (or you, lol). Please send one for each child, we don't want anyone feeling left out :) Here are the names of the kiddos:

Berlyn, Jaeden, Lloyd, Laney, Gabbie, Abraham, Jadon, Brook, Joshua, Lauren, Luke, Millie, Peyton, Kaytie, Dayna, Bethany, Will, Owen... 18 all together :)

Field trip :)

Permission slips have been sent home for our trip to the Orlando Science Center! Please get them turned in ASAP :) We are all VERY excited to explore and absorb all there is to see and TOUCH! There will be a touring exhibit about force/motion and simple machines with Bob the Builder :) should be a great day of fun and learning!
